Assistive Technology Specialist – Christina School District
In response to a lack of standardized procedures for assistive technology (AT) within the district, I initiated and led the formation of the Assistive Technology Task Force—a dedicated group of multidisciplinary professionals who volunteered their time to address district-wide AT needs. Under my leadership, the task force met monthly to assess current practices, identify gaps, and share expertise. With their input, I developed the district’s first Assistive Technology Guidelines Handbook, establishing a clear, consistent process for assessing, implementing, and acquiring AT for students with disabilities. This foundational work significantly improved service delivery and compliance with IDEA mandates.
